KryptoHash v1

Mine GNR on your GPU or CPU

Every block pays 5 GNR plus fees to whoever finds it. No pool or permission needed: point the miner at a node and your address.

74 MH/sRTX 5090 (CUDA)
1.4 MH/sCore Ultra 9 285K, 24 threads
2 GiBDataset at launch (+4 MiB per epoch)
~1 msLight verification per block

Easiest: from the wallet

Open the wallet, go to Mining, choose Automatic, NVIDIA, AMD / Intel or CPU, set a CPU limit and press Start mining. Rewards arrive in your wallet and mature after 100 blocks (20 on testnet).

Command line

krypton-miner --list-devices
krypton-miner --node http://127.0.0.1:31334 --address-file address.txt --backend auto
krypton-miner --node http://127.0.0.1:31334 --address-file address.txt --backend cpu --max-cpu 50

The miner asks a node for work, searches nonces and submits solutions. GPU results are re-verified on the CPU before submission. Use your own node (kryptond) for solo mining.

Why GPUs are faster

Each hash reads 64 random 128-byte pairs from the dataset, so speed follows memory bandwidth. A desktop GPU has hundreds of GB/s, a CPU tens. CPUs remain useful on cloud servers and spare machines. The dataset grows slowly so that memory, not specialised logic, stays the bottleneck.

Fair from block one

There is no premine and no early bonus. The mainnet genesis commits to a Bitcoin block hash chosen after the launch announcement, so nobody could start mining early. Difficulty retargets every block (LWMA, 90-block window) to keep 60-second blocks.
